Ten Best Episodes of Game Of Thrones which proved be to a game changer in television history

======VALAR MORGHULIS======

To all the GoT fanatics, who have patiently waited for 2 long years to experience a not-so-satisfying final season will have one last night of sleep before witnessing the season finale. The greatest show on television history will be gone once and for all.

Oh, Wait! The prequel is coming.

Before we bid adieu to our favorite characters who could possibly die in the final episode, we shall take a trip down the memory lane to look into the 10 best episodes of the show which proved to be a game changer in the television history. The show redefined grandeur, drama, fantasy, story-telling and above all, the character development of all characters exhibited brilliantly by the actors is coming to an end. (bittersweet ?)

After all the disappointing moments from the final season, some people hate the show. But not us... Not Us. This show will be etched in our memory forever and one bad season cannot ruin the entire show. Yet I pity the showrunners for their writing in Season 8.

Let us chronologically enumerate the episodes.

1. Winter is Coming (Season 1 Episode 1)

The one that started it all. This episode kickstarted the plotlines for all the major characters.

  • Introduced the white walkers.
  • The backdrop of the major houses from the Seven Kingdoms.
  • Bran getting crippled.

2. Blackwater (Season 2 Episode 9)

This episode gave us the very first glimpse of a major battle sequence.

  • Lannister battle against Stannis Baratheon
  • Tywin's men win the day for the Lannisters.

3. The Rains of Castamere (Season 3 Episode 9)

This episode left all the fans in an absolute shocker.

  • Robb Stark, Talisa Stark, and Catelyn Stark all massacred by the Boltons and Freys.
  • Red Wedding. Period.

4. The Lion and the Rose (Season 4 Episode 2)

When the show's most hated character succumbed to the poison.

  • Lady Ollena Tyrell poisons Joffrey
  • Tyrion is falsely accused of murder by Cersei.

5. The Mountain and the Viper (Season 4 Episode 8)

After Tyrion's demand for trial by combat, Oberyn Martell accepts to be his champion.

  • The Viper's one-on-one combat against the Mountain was lit.
  • After having almost won the fight, the Viper's eyes were gouged out by mountain in no time killing him instantly, thus allowing Tyrion to be sentenced to death.

6. Watchers on the Wall (Season 4 Episode 10)

The big battle between the Wildlings and the Night's Watch.

  • The Night's watch gained the upper hand over the wildlings and won the battle.
  • Jon's love interest Yggritte is killed by Olly.

7. Hardhome (Season 5 Episode 8)

After the not-so-exciting initial episodes of season 5, then came an episode which not only elevated this season but also stood out to be the best episodes the show has ever produced. 'The Hardhome Massacre.'

  • Massacre of the wildlings by the White Walkers.
  • Night King reanimating the dead people.
  • Jon Snow kills a white walker with Valyrian Steel.

8. The Door (Season 6 Episode 5)

The episode which revealed the origin of the White Walkers. An episode which left many of the GoT fans in tears with the death of the sweet giant, 'Hodor' who died protecting Bran so that he could escape. Also, it explained how Hodor got his name in the most convincing way possible.

  • The Children of the forest create the White Walkers.
  • Bran meets the Night King in a vision and is marked by him.
  • The Three-Eyed Raven is killed by the Night King. Hodor dies.

9. Battle of the Bastards (Season 6 Episode 9)

The epic battle between the Starks and the Boltons for the North.

  • Rickon Stark dies.
  • Jon Snow defeats Ramsay in one-on-one combat.
  • Ramsay was captured and fed to his dogs by Sansa.
  • The Starks regain Winterfell.

10. Winds of Winter (Season 6 Episode 10)

Probably the best episode in the show in my opinion. Ramin Djawadi's 'The Light of the Seven' was a masterpiece and it just brought the whole Sept of Baelor scenes into our eyes.

  • Jon Snow's parentage revealed. He is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, the son of ice and fire. He is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms.
  • Cersei blowing the Sept of Baelor with wildfire killing the Tyrells and the High Septon.
  • Tommen dies by falling from the window after hearing the news that Margaery is dead.
  • Arya kills Walder Frey.
  • Jon Snow proclaimed as the King in the North.
